If this defect is detected, it may lead to the following problems:
When a vehicle is idling, a predefined speed is monitored and controlled by the engine control unit. Deviations are detected and corrected, and an error is stored in the event of failure. The idle control valve, a bypass air valve, is responsible for regulating the engine speed when the vehicle is stationary.
When there is a sudden change in engine speed due to the use of air conditioning or other electrical loads, additional air and fuel demand is recorded. If the engine speed drops below a setpoint, the valve is activated, increasing air flow and simultaneously extending the opening time of the injectors for adjustment.
