Functionality FlexRay data bus
The FlexRay data bus is a real-time capable bus system in the vehicle and transmits in the nanosecond range (about 10 Mbit/s). Mainly the FlexRay data bus is used in powertrain and safety related systems.
Since the FlexRay data bus transmits in real time, the transmission protocol between the individual nodes must be synchronized. This is achieved by means of clocking, which is included in the message. You can think of this as being similar to a concert, where a conductor sets the speed with a baton.
