The fogging sensor, active in the automatic program of the climate/heating control, indirectly detects window fogging by determining the general conditions under which fogging can occur. It measures the humidity and temperature of the windshield in the vehicle interior and generates a frequency-dependent signal.
The climate control unit analyzes this signal as well as the inside and outside temperature and the temperature of the windshield in the vehicle interior. If the humidity at the windshield exceeds 65%, the climate control unit starts a program to prevent windshield fogging. This innovative approach enables effective windshield dehumidification, thus increasing safety.
