Function of the fuel pump
The electric fuel pump is an important component for supplying fuel to the engine. It delivers fuel from the tank to the injection valves, which inject it either into the intake manifold (intake manifold injection) or directly into the combustion chamber (gasoline direct injection).
In the case of direct injection, a high-pressure pump also increases the pressure to feed the fuel to the high-pressure injection valves. Regardless of the engine's condition, cold or warm, the electric fuel pump (EKP) continuously delivers the pressure required for injection, ensuring the correct amount of fuel.
