Function of the windshield washer system
The headlight cleaning system cleans the front headlights of vehicles. When the windshield wiper system is activated and the low beam is switched on, the headlight cleaning system is typically activated every three actuations. For vehicles with xenon light, the headlight cleaning system is required by law.
The system includes wiper nozzles, which are usually installed in the bumper or on the headlights, a pump on the windshield wiper system reservoir, a relay and a control unit. A relay contains a coil that generates a magnetic field when current flows, opening or closing contacts.
