The exterior mirrors are automatically heated at a certain outside temperature.An electric heater is used to remove ice and mist from the exterior mirror. As a rule, the exterior mirror heater turns on by itself. Vehicles equipped with automatically dimming exterior and interior mirrors have a sensor in the interior mirror.
This sensor can perceive the light irradiation.More precisely, the sensor detects the incoming brightness by means of a photocell and transmits the signal to a control unit.The mirror is controlled via a defined voltage, whereupon it darkens.
