Function of rain-light sensor
The rain/light sensor is attached to the windshield from the inside and is located in the wiper area of the windshield wiper behind the rearview mirror. It is held securely in its mount by a metal spring. The bracket is usually permanently bonded to the windshield and therefore cannot be replaced.

A silicone gel pad is located between the rain/light sensor and the windshield. This ensures the optical connection to the windshield and prevents dirt from penetrating. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the sensor enables automatic adjustment of the driving light and wiping frequency to the weather conditions.
