Function of the heat exchanger
The task of a heat exchanger is to release the stored heat to various components or to the passenger compartment.The heat exchanger is located in the heater box behind the vehicle's dashboard. The combustion heat generated by the engine is absorbed by the coolant and conducted through the heat exchanger.
With the aid of the fan motor installed in the vehicle, the heat from the heat exchanger is conducted into the passenger compartment via air ducts.A sensor is installed on the heat exchanger to monitor the cooling water and heat exchanger temperature.In some cases, however, this sensor is also installed in one of the coolant hoses upstream of the heat exchanger.
