I'm no expert, but the transmission sensor is usually bolted to the side of the transmission. Messing with that stuff can be tricky. The workshop guys used a diagnostic tool that pinpointed the sensor. If you're seeing error codes and the car is acting up, get it checked by a pro. Could save you grief.
