Freed outside temperature sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Honda Freed hybrid is experiencing a fault with the outside temperature sensor, leading to an error code, non-functional AC, spray nozzles, and mirror heating. The issue is suspected to be a bad connection, as the temperature gauge displays incorrect readings. A similar case was resolved by diagnosing a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor, suggesting a professional check is advisable.

Yeah, the vehicle temperature gauge is way off, showing crazy low temps. Was it definitely the outside temperature sensor? Where was the defective cable or plug connection located?

Indeed it was the outside temperature sensor. The reading was all over the place. Honestly, I didn't try to fix it myself; I took it to a workshop. They diagnosed it as a defective cable/plug connection to the sensor. Best to get it checked properly.

Roger that. Sounds like a trip to the shop is in order. Thanks for the confirmation. Repair cost me 95€ for a new cable. All good now.

I had something similar happen with my Freed. Does the vehicle temperature gauge read way off? Like showing -20 degrees Celsius when it's clearly not freezing? If so, it's probably the same thing.
