Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful as I'm dealing with the exact same symptoms. Good to know it might just be the ASC relay, definitely sounds less scary than what I was imagining. Do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything stayed working properly since then, or have you noticed any other electrical gremlins popping up?

Hey again! Happy to give you an update! Yes, everything has been working perfectly fine since I got it fixed. The ASC relay repair worked like a charm, all warning lights disappeared, and both the ABS and DSC systems are functioning just as they should. Not a single electrical gremlin has shown up since then! The total cost was 90.00 € for the whole job, which covered both the new ASC relay and the labor. Pretty reasonable considering how worried I was initially! Must say, I was quite relieved it wasn't something more serious (and expensive) with the ABS module itself. Quick tip though, make sure whoever works on it knows their way around Land Rover electrical systems. Getting the right diagnosis from the start saves both time and money. I seriously lucked out with my mechanic on this one. Let me know how it goes with yours! Always good to hear if others are having similar experiences fixed successfully.

Just wanted to update everyone! Finally got my Freelander fixed and wow, what a relief! Found a mechanic who really knew their stuff with Land Rovers. The issue was exactly what you mentioned, a faulty ASC relay. The repair took about half a day, and everything's working perfectly now. No more warning lights, and both ABS and DSC are back to normal. The bill came to about 100 bucks, definitely not as bad as I feared! The mechanic also gave the whole system a once-over to make sure there weren't any other issues lurking around. Really glad I asked here first, saved me from stressing too much and helped me know what to expect. It's been about a week now, and everything's still running smoothly. No weird electrical issues or warning lights popping up. Thanks again for the advice! Sometimes these car problems seem huge until you hear from someone who's dealt with the same thing. Really appreciate the help!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2004 Land Rover Discovery (gasoline engine) last year. The symptoms were exactly the same, ABS and DSC warnings lighting up together with the speedometer warning. Turned out the ASC relay was defective, which caused intermittent failures in the ABS module. The mechanic had to replace the relay and recalibrate the entire ABS system. The repair itself wasn't too complex, but getting the proper diagnosis was crucial. In my case, it took about 4 hours for the complete fix, including system testing. It wasn't a super serious issue, but definitely not something you want to ignore since it affects your vehicle's safety systems. Make sure your mechanic has proper diagnostic equipment for Land Rovers, that's really important for this kind of electrical issue. The problem hasn't come back since the repair, and all systems are working perfectly now. Hope this helps with your decision!
