Freemont central locking failure

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with my 2012 Fiat Freemont, gasoline engine. The central locking has completely stopped working. I can no longer lock or unlock the doors, and I'm getting an error stored in the error memory. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

The central locking system of a 2012 Fiat Freemont stopped working, with an error stored in the memory. Possible causes included a defective cable or plug connection, and checking the fuses was suggested. Ultimately, a workshop diagnosed and fixed a defective cable connection, resolving the issue.

Could be a defective cable or plug connection to the central locking component. Have you checked the fuses related to the security system?

Thanks for the suggestion. Which specific fuse should I be looking at? Do you have a diagram, or know which one controls the locking mechanism?

Without seeing the exact error code, it's tough to pinpoint. But based on the symptoms, and especially the stored error, it's most likely a wiring issue. Checking the fuses is always good, but you may need a workshop to properly diagnose and fix it.

Thanks. You were right, a trip to the workshop confirmed it was a defective cable connection. The repair cost 95€. Problem solved!
