Freemont parking aid malfunction

Good day. I am writing to inquire about an issue I am experiencing with my 2016 Fiat Freemont, equipped with a gasoline engine. The vehicle has 240731 km on the odometer. Currently, the parking aid system is malfunctioning. The primary symptom is that the parking assistant is without function. Diagnostic scans reveal an error stored in the error memory. Based on preliminary assessment, the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection within the system. Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

Hey there! I had something similar happen with my Freemont too. Is your rearview camera also acting up, or is it just the parking sensors giving you grief? For me, it turned out to be a bad connection to one of the radar sensors in the bumper. Cost me a fortune to diagnose!

Thank you for your response. To answer your question, the rearview camera appears to be functioning normally; the issue seems isolated to the parking sensors. Could you perhaps elaborate on the specific radar sensor or area where you found the faulty connection?

Okay, that's good at least. Honestly, I couldn't tell you exactly which sensor it was. I'm not very mechanically inclined. The whole parking assist system just went haywire one day, and I took it straight to the shop. They told me it was a loose wire somewhere near the rear bumper and that it was interfering with one of the sensors. If I were you, I'd get it checked by a professional before you start pulling things apart. Probably worth the 95€ you mentioned.

I appreciate the additional information. I will arrange for a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation at a reputable workshop to pinpoint the precise location of the faulty wiring. Thank you for your assistance.
