Freemont Power Windows Faulty Switch
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Fiat Freemont diesel with low mileage has power windows that stopped working, accompanied by an error message. The issue might be due to a faulty power window switch. Another possibility is a misaligned or stuck window track, which can strain the regulator. It is recommended to have a professional diagnose and repair the problem, especially if one is not experienced with car door mechanisms.

When you say check the window track, do you mean the mechanism inside the door panel? Is that something I could do myself or is it best to get a professional?

Yes, I mean the mechanism inside the door. Honestly, if you're not comfortable taking the door panel apart, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and replace the switch if needed.

Thanks for the advice. I'll take it to a professional since I don't have much experience. The shop said it was the power window switch and quoted 200€.

I had a similar issue with my Freemont. Check the window track first. Sometimes they get stuck or misaligned, which can put extra strain on the regulator. If it's not that, then yeah, could be the switch.
