Freestar ABS and Traction Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Ford Freestar is experiencing ABS and traction control issues, with the ABS light illuminated. The initial suspicion was a faulty speed sensor, but advice from another individual suggested the problem might be with the ABS control unit itself. After a professional diagnosis, it was confirmed that the control unit was defective, and repairs are underway.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Control unit, eh? Interesting. I was leaning towards a sensor, but you think it's the actual unit? How did you diagnose that on your Scenic?

Yeah, after checking all the sensors, it turned out to be the control unit itself. I'd suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop. Save yourself the headache.

Thanks for the tip! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to the shop, and it's a defective control unit. They're quoting me around 1000€ for the repair. Ouch! But at least it's getting fixed.

Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue with my old Renault Scenic. ABS light, traction control going nuts. Was the control unit itself. Did you check that?
