Freestar AC Compressor Issue

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2006 Ford Freestar with a gasoline engine. The A/C compressor seems to have shut off. The air conditioning system doesn't switch on, and it's definitely not cooling. I scanned for codes and found an error stored in the memory, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact cause. Could undervoltage be the culprit? Any ideas on where to start looking?

I had a similar problem with my Freestar a while back. The symptoms sound very familiar. Have you checked the AC relay and the pressure switch? It might also be worth looking into the HVAC system's overall electrical supply.

Thanks for the quick reply! Which AC relay are you referring to specifically, and where is it located? Also, do you know what voltage reading I should be seeing at the pressure switch?

Honestly, I can't remember the exact relay location – it was a while ago, and my memory is failing me. As for the pressure switch voltage, I didn't measure it myself. I ended up taking it to a workshop, and they sorted it out pretty quickly. Might be worth doing the same to save yourself some time and potential headaches.

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it! I took it to a local shop, and it turned out to be an undervoltage issue, like I suspected. The final repair cost was 240€. At least it's fixed now!
