Freestar Indicator Light Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Ford Freestar owner experienced an issue with the indicator light, which was linked to a fault stored in the error memory. The problem was suspected to be related to a lighting issue, possibly caused by a faulty wire or connector to the turn signal. After taking the vehicle to a shop, it was confirmed that the cable to the indicator was the problem, and the issue was resolved.

CIM module? I haven't checked that. Where exactly is the cable harness and plug connection you're talking about? Is it hard to get to?

Nah, the CIM thing was just on my Opel. For your Freestar, I'd bet it's a dodgy wire or connector to the turn signal itself. If you're not comfortable poking around with electrics, take it to a shop. Could save you some headaches.

Thanks. I took it to the shop, and you were right. Turns out the cable to the indicator was the problem. 95€ later and it's fixed.

Sounds familiar. Had similar gremlins in my old Opel Astra. The CIM module threw codes and the blinkers went haywire. Have you checked the cable harness and plug connection?
