Freestar Indicator Light Issue

Hi, I have a 2003 Ford Freestar with a gasoline engine. My indicator light is acting up. The error memory has a fault stored and it throws an error message on the dash. Seems like a lighting issue. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. Had similar gremlins in my old Opel Astra. The CIM module threw codes and the blinkers went haywire. Have you checked the cable harness and plug connection?

CIM module? I haven't checked that. Where exactly is the cable harness and plug connection you're talking about? Is it hard to get to?

Nah, the CIM thing was just on my Opel. For your Freestar, I'd bet it's a dodgy wire or connector to the turn signal itself. If you're not comfortable poking around with electrics, take it to a shop. Could save you some headaches.

Thanks. I took it to the shop, and you were right. Turns out the cable to the indicator was the problem. 95€ later and it's fixed.
