Freestar Oil Pressure Warning Light

Help! My 2004 Ford Freestar with a gasoline engine is throwing me for a loop. The oil pressure warning lamp keeps lighting up, plus there's a warning light on the speedometer and an error stored in the memory. I'm guessing it's the engine oil temperature sensor, but I'm not sure where to start looking.

I had a similar problem with my Freestar. Is the warning light constant, or does it flicker? I would check the sensor's cable and plug connection first. A defective connection there can cause all sorts of weird readings. Is it possible that it is just a faulty sensor?

Thanks! The light is mostly constant, but sometimes flickers a bit. Where exactly is that sensor located? I'm okay with checking the connections, but I don't want to mess with the wrong thing.

On mine, the sensor was a pain to get to, tucked away near the oil filter. Honestly, given the symptoms and the potential location hassle, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and replace the sensor if needed. Could save you a lot of time and frustration.

You were right! Took it to the shop, and it was indeed the cable connection to the oil temperature sensor. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
