Freestar Power Window Switch

My 2004 Ford Freestar with a gasoline engine has a problem with the power windows. They can no longer be operated, and there's an error stored in the error memory. Could this be a faulty window regulator?

Summary of the thread

The 2004 Ford Freestar's power windows stopped functioning, and an error was recorded in the error memory. Initially suspected to be a faulty window regulator, it was suggested that the power window switch could be the cause. Verification of the switch without proper tools was deemed difficult, and professional diagnosis was recommended. Ultimately, the issue was confirmed to be the power window switch, which was repaired at a cost.

I had a similar issue with my Freestar. Did you check the power window switch? That was the cause in my case.

Is the switch the likely cause, even with an error code? Is there any way to verify the switch without replacing it?

Yes, the switch can definitely be the cause, even with an error code. Without proper tools, you are not able to verify the switch. Going to a workshop might be the best solution.

Thanks for the advice. It was indeed the power window switch. The repair cost me 200€.
