Freestar siren communication fault

Anyone else had siren issues on their 2006 Ford Freestar with a gasoline engine? My alarm system's completely dead, and the error memory shows a siren communication fault. I'm thinking it's likely a cable or plug issue. Mileage is 121147 km. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before I start tearing into it.

Summary of the thread

The conversation revolves around a 2006 Ford Freestar experiencing a siren communication fault, rendering the alarm system non-functional. The initial suspicion is a cable or plug issue. A similar problem on a different vehicle was resolved by addressing a wiring connection fault, suggesting that a professional mechanic should handle the repair.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Had something similar on my old Peugeot 307. Alarm would just randomly go off, or sometimes not arm at all. Did you try resetting the alarm system?

I haven't tried an alarm reset yet. Where exactly did you find the alarm controller on your Peugeot? Maybe the Freestar is similar.

Honestly, I never found it myself. Took it to a workshop in the end. They said it was a bad connection somewhere in the wiring. Cost me about 80€ back then. Might be worth checking with a mechanic if you're not comfortable tracing wires.

Thanks, appreciate the input! Sounds like a wiring issue is the most probable cause - I will take it to the workshop. Estimate for repair is 95€. Better leave it to the pros.
