Freestar stalling at idle
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Ford Freestar was experiencing stalling at idle and a persistent check engine light. The suspected cause was a faulty tank ventilation valve or a clogged hose. It was suggested to check the purge valve and related hoses, which were confirmed as the issue upon professional inspection. After addressing these problems, the vehicle's performance improved significantly.

Interesting! Was yours stalling too? And where exactly should I be looking for this purge valve? I'm not super mechanically inclined, haha.

Yep, stalling at idle was exactly what mine was doing. Honestly, if you're not comfortable poking around, I'd recommend taking it to a shop. Could save you a headache, and messing with the fuel system can be risky.

Thanks! I took your advice and brought it in. Turns out you were right about the purge valve and clogged hoses. Cost me 175€ to get it all sorted. Runs like a charm now!

I had a similar issue with my Freestar. Check the purge valve and all the hoses connected to the fuel tank. Could be a simple clog.
