Freestyle AC compressor undervoltage
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Ford Freestyle experienced an A/C compressor failure, with an error code indicating undervoltage. The suspected cause was a faulty relay switch. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, it was confirmed that the undervoltage issue led to a relay failure. Replacing the AC relay resolved the problem, restoring the A/C functionality.

I suspected the relay switch too. I haven't put a meter on the compressor yet, but the error code strongly suggests undervoltage. Which relay exactly was causing the problem on your Ford, and where is it located?

Honestly, I couldn't pinpoint it myself. I ended up taking it to a shop; they diagnosed it as a faulty relay due to undervoltage and replaced it. They also checked the refrigerant level as a precaution. They found it quickly on the wiring diagram, I suggest you go to the workshop.

Thanks for the info! I appreciate you sharing your experience. Took it to the workshop. The undervoltage was indeed the culprit, causing the relay to fail. They replaced the AC relay and now the A/C is working perfectly again. Cost me 240€, all in. Cheers!

I had something similar happen on my Ford. I think it was a weird electrical issue affecting the HVAC system. Have you checked the AC relay itself? Sometimes those go bad and cause undervoltage issues. Is the compressor getting power?
