Freestyle battery sensor issue

I am having some trouble with my 2005 Ford Freestyle with a gasoline engine. The car has 130022 km on the clock. I think the battery sensor might be failing, because the battery feels weak when starting. I also notice weak or flickering lights sometimes. I checked the battery voltage, and it seems all over the place. Could it be the battery sensor?

I had similar issues with my Freestyle! It drove me crazy. Did you check the sensor connections for corrosion? Sometimes it's just a bad connection, like a loose wire on a lamp.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the connections, but they seem fine. Where was the sensor located in your car, and what exactly was the problem?

Mine was definitely the sensor itself. It's like a fuse that's blown. I tried cleaning the contacts, but it didn't help. Eventually, I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was the battery sensor. I recommend doing the same.

Thanks a lot! I appreciate the confirmation. I took it to the workshop, and they replaced the battery sensor. Cost me 315€, but the problem is solved!
