Freestyle dashboard lights issue

Hey, I have a 2007 Ford Freestyle with a gasoline engine. The dashboard lights are acting up. They just switch on randomly. I had it checked and there's an error in the error memory. Could it be the headlight switch?

Could be, yes! I had a similar issue with my Ford a while back. Was it also a faulty light switch? The cable or plug connection may be defective. Does it happen more often when you use the dimmer switch?

Yeah, it does seem worse when I use the dimmer. Is that a sure sign it's the switch, then?

That does sound extremely similar to what I had. Seems like it may be the switch. The whole lighting system went haywire, took it to the workshop. They told me a faulty connection. Replacing the whole thing cost me 95€. I'd recommend getting it checked out.

Thanks! I'll take it to a shop. They found the defective plug connection and fixed it.
