Freestyle fog sensor issue

I'm having trouble with my 2005 Ford Freestyle (gasoline engine). The error memory shows an issue with the fog sensor. Because of this, the AC won't turn on, the windshield washer nozzles are frozen, and the mirror heating doesn't work. I think it might be a bad cable or plug, but I don't know where to start.

That sounds like a cascading failure from the fog sensor. The climate control, washer nozzles, and mirror heating are probably all connected to that sensor. Have you checked the sensor and its wiring for damage or corrosion? A multimeter could help check for continuity.

When you say check the sensor, do you mean the one by the rearview mirror, or is there another one? Also, could a bad BCM (Body Control Module) cause this?

Yes, I meant the sensor near the rearview mirror, the one with the auto-dimming function. A BCM issue could cause this, but it's less likely than a problem with the sensor or its wiring. Focus on the sensor and its connections first. If that doesn't fix it, a workshop visit is the next step.

Thanks, I'll check the sensor and wiring. I ended up getting it repaired at the workshop for 95€. Thanks for the help!
