Freestyle Transport Mode Electrical Fault

My 2004 Ford Freestyle with a gasoline engine indicates it's in 'transport mode,' causing a general electrical malfunction and navigation system failure. The car only has 21622 km. It seems the vehicle thinks it's new. Has anyone experienced this?

I had something similar in my Ford Escape, affecting the central locking and other electrical systems. Did you check the key fob? Maybe try re-syncing it with the car's computer?

I considered the key fob, but assumed it unlikely given the navigation system failure, pointing to deeper configuration issues. Was your Escape also showing a persistent 'transport mode' message, or did it manifest differently?

No 'transport mode' message specifically, but the symptoms were super similar – random electrical issues across the board. The key fob thing didn't fix it. I took it to a workshop, and they sorted it after a software fix.

Understood. It seems a trip to the workshop is unavoidable. I appreciate you confirming the correlation of symptoms and the eventual solution. I will post the final resolution for others. The repair was free; it only required a software fix to disable the transport setting.
