Thanks for the info! No specific codes that I could see, just a generic error. Is the electric actuator something I can easily check myself, or am I better off taking it to a mechanic?

Given your description and the lack of specific fault codes, it would be prudent to seek professional assistance. While some individuals with advanced mechanical aptitude might attempt a self-diagnosis and repair, the potential for exacerbating the issue or causing further damage exists. A qualified technician can accurately diagnose the fault, whether it lies within the electric actuator, the associated wiring, or the vehicle's central control module. Furthermore, they possess the necessary tools and expertise to execute the repair efficiently and safely. It is advisable to consult with a reputable automotive service center.

Appreciate the advice! I took it to my local mechanic, and you were spot on – it was a defective actuator. Cost me 210€ to replace it. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

Greetings. I encountered a similar problem with my previous vehicle, a 2012 Audi A4. The fuel filler door release mechanism, which utilizes an electric actuator, became inoperable. The root cause of the issue was a defective actuator, though it could also potentially be a linkage problem if your Fusion employs such a design. Does your error message provide any specific fault codes related to the fuel filler door or the central locking system?
