Fuel Flap Release Issue
Summary of the thread
The issue involves a malfunctioning fuel flap release on a 2012 Ford Falcon, which also affects other functions. The problem may stem from a defective cable release or locking mechanism, as indicated by a loose release button. The suggested solution is to inspect the cable release located behind the trunk trim near the fuel filler. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by a mechanic, who identified a defective linkage and repaired it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Where exactly is the cable release located? And yeah, the button feels kind of loose, like it's not connected to anything.

It's usually behind the trim in the trunk, near the fuel filler. If the button feels loose and you're getting errors, it's almost certainly the cable or the locking mechanism itself. I ended up taking mine to a workshop to get it sorted, much easier than messing with it myself.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Sounds like I'll be booking it in with a mechanic. Turns out the linkage was defective. Cost me 210€ to get it fixed. Cheers!

Hey, I had something similar happen on my Falcon. Check the cable release, it might be defective. Does the release button feel different when you press it?
