Fuel Level Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a 2007 Volvo S40 diesel experiencing a check engine light and stalling issues, with a diagnostic scan indicating a problem with the fuel level sensor. A faulty sensor could indeed cause stalling, and a suggestion was made to check the fuses, as a defective fuse might lead to electronic issues. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be the fuel level sensor, and the issue was resolved with a repair.

Okay, interesting! Where exactly is the fuse for the fuel level sensor located? And would a bad fuse really throw a code and cause stalling? I'm trying to avoid taking it to a shop if it's something simple like that.

Alright, I'm not sure about the exact location, you can find the fuse box diagram in your owner's manual. And, yeah, a bad fuse can cause all sorts of weirdness with the electronics. Still, with the stalling issue, I'd honestly recommend getting it checked out by a pro. Could be more than just a fuse, you know?

Thanks a lot! I'll check the fuses first, but you're probably right about getting it looked at. I took it to the workshop and you were spot on: It was the level sensor, and luckily, the defective fuse had not damaged other components. The repair cost me 52€. I really appreciate the advice!

Dude, that sounds rough! I had something kinda similar happen with my Volvo S40. My fuel gauge was acting all wonky, bouncing around like crazy. I never had the stalling issue, though. Have you checked the fuses? I know it sounds simple, but sometimes it's the easiest thing to overlook. It might be fuse defective.
