Thanks for the quick reply! I appreciate the input. When you say 'intake hose,' are you referring to the big, corrugated one right after the air filter box? And how intense was the hissing sound you experienced? Mine is pretty darn loud, like a small animal is trapped under the hood!

Yes, I am referring to the corrugated hose directly after the air filter. The hissing sound was indeed quite noticeable, especially during acceleration. While it might be tempting to try a DIY fix, I would strongly recommend taking your Fuga to a trusted workshop to have it properly diagnosed and repaired. A small leak can sometimes have knock-on effects. They will be able to check for any other potential issues with the air intake system.

Okay, I hear you. I was hoping it would be a simple hose clamp fix, but you're right; better safe than sorry. I'll book an appointment with my mechanic this week. I really appreciate the advice! It was indeed the intake hose as you suggested. Cost me about 100€ to replace it. Runs like a dream now!

Your symptoms sound very familiar. I own a Fuga myself, though not the same year, and I had a similar experience not too long ago. The hissing, the check engine light, and the fuel consumption… it all points to an air leak in the intake system. Have you checked the intake hose between the air filter and the throttle body? It's a common culprit for cracks and leaks, especially with age and heat cycles. Also, give the connections to the turbocharger a good inspection if your model has one. An engine misfire can also trigger those lights, so it's worth getting it checked.
