Fuga Sunroof Initialization Error

Sunroof on my 2020 Nissan Fuga with gasoline engine is displaying 'Sunroof not initialized'. Sunblind is stuck, convertible top inoperable, and sunblind won't retract or extend. This happened after some coding. Anyone seen this?

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my Fuga. The 'Sunroof not initialized' error usually pops up when the sunroof control module loses its settings. If coding was done, it likely messed with the calibration. Is the sunblind completely jammed, or does it twitch a little when you try to use the switch? Did you try checking fuses?

The sunblind is completely jammed, but I can hear a faint motor sound when attempting to operate it. I have checked the fuses related to the sunroof, and they appear to be intact. Is there a specific reset procedure for the sunroof control module that you are aware of?

Yeah, that faint motor sound but no movement confirms it for me. The control module probably needs to relearn its limits. I wouldn't attempt any advanced fixes yourself, as incorrect manipulation can damage the sunroof mechanism. The best course of action is to take it to a workshop with experience in Nissan vehicles. They'll likely need to use a diagnostic tool to re-initialize the sunroof. Tell them about the coding that was done before the error came up, so they can undo it if needed.

Thank you for the advice. I took the Fuga to a workshop, as you suggested. They confirmed that the coding had corrupted the sunroof module's settings. They performed a re-initialization procedure using their diagnostic tool, and the sunroof is now functioning correctly. The repair cost was 75€.
