Fullback Overheating Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Fiat Fullback with a diesel engine is experiencing severe overheating, suspected to be due to the electric fan not functioning properly. The fan is completely non-operational, although the coolant level is normal, and there are no unusual engine noises. The issue was identified as a faulty connection to the fan, which was resolved by fitting a new connector at a garage.

Good questions! The fan seems completely dead, no movement at all. Coolant level is fine, and no weird noises that I can hear over the sound of my growing panic. What should I check next?

Right, fan completely dead and coolant level normal, that points away from head gasket worries at least. Given the age of the vehicle and mileage, it's possible a cable or plug connection of the component is defective. I would suggest taking it to a workshop. I guess it will amount to 95€.

Thanks for the advice! I did end up taking it to a garage. You were spot on – it was a faulty connection to the fan. New connector fitted, and it's all sorted now! Much appreciated!

Overheating, you say? That's never good. When you say the fan isn't kicking in 'properly,' do you mean it's not coming on at all, or is it just running weakly? Have you checked the coolant level, and are there any unusual noises coming from the engine?
