Fusion AC Compressor Failure
Summary of the thread
The 2003 Ford Fusion diesel's A/C compressor was not functioning, and a diagnostics device indicated an error, leading to a suspicion of undervoltage. Possible causes considered included the AC relay, pressure sensor, belt tensioner, or pressure switch. After checking the fuse, relay, and battery, the issue was confirmed to be undervoltage. The problem was resolved by addressing the electrical issue at a workshop, restoring the A/C compressor's functionality.

I checked the fuse and relay; they seem fine. The battery seems adequate, but I haven't measured its exact voltage. Is it possible undervoltage is still the problem?

Yeah, even if the battery seems okay, a slight voltage drop can still cause A/C issues. It's a sensitive system. After checking the basics, I took mine to a workshop. They diagnosed it and sorted it quickly. Might be worth doing the same.

I consulted a workshop, as you recommended. The problem was undervoltage. After fixing the electrical issue, the A/C compressor is now working. The repair cost 240€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar issue with my Fusion recently. The A/C just quit. Have you checked the AC compressor fuse and relay? That's where I'd start. Also, is your battery good? Low voltage can definitely mess with the A/C system.
