Understood. I appreciate your advice. I took it to my workshop. Turns out the cable connection for the charge air temperature sensor was defective, just like you suspected. 95€ later and it's all sorted.

Sounds familiar. I've got a Ford Fusion as well. I had almost the same symptoms a while back - check engine light, loss of power, and a weird hissing noise. Did you check the sensor's wiring harness for any obvious damage or corrosion?
