Fusion Diesel PTC Heater Issue

Hi, I'm experiencing issues with my 2012 Ford Fusion diesel (40,797 km). Poor engine running during cold starts, fault stored in error memory, and higher fuel consumption. I suspect the electric auxiliary heater (PTC) might be defective. Anyone else encountered similar problems?

Hey! I have a Fusion too. Sounds very familiar. Does it feel like the temperature control in your HVAC system is off? Like, the heat just isn't there when it's really cold outside? I also experienced higher fuel consumption. Could be your PTC heater.

Yes, exactly! The heat is definitely weak during cold starts, and the fuel consumption is noticeably worse. Did you manage to fix it yourself, or did you take it to a workshop?

I went straight to the workshop. Diagnosed as a defective electric auxiliary heater. They replaced it. If you are not sure about the repair, I would highly recommend going to the workshop. The repair cost me about 350€. Good luck!

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I'm headed to the shop then. At least I have a good idea of what to expect. Will post the resolution once it's sorted.
