Fusion Fault Memory Lock Active
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Ford Fusion displayed an error message: 'Fault memory lock active,' with no apparent symptoms other than the error stored in memory. The issue was suspected to be related to an undervoltage problem affecting the control unit. After checking the battery and finding it healthy, the recurring error suggested a deeper issue. A professional automotive workshop confirmed the problem as an undervoltage issue, which was resolved for a cost of 240€.

Battery seems okay, voltmeter says it's healthy. The error comes back pretty quick, usually within a day. What exactly was your issue, do you remember the fault code?

Yeah, if it's recurring that fast, battery charging might actually be the problem. I don't recall the specific fault code anymore, sorry. Problem was tracked to undervoltage causing weird control unit behavior. You'll probably need someone with the right diagnostics tools; you most likely need to get the car checked by a professional automotive workshop.

Cheers, appreciate the help. Took it to the workshop; you were spot on. Turns out it was an undervoltage issue causing the error. Bill was 240€ to get it sorted.

I had something like that in my Fusion (not sure of the build year anymore; had it for a while). Sounds like some kind of undervoltage issue messing with the control unit. Did you check your battery? Also, does the error come back immediately after you clear the codes, or does it take a while?
