Fusion Hybrid Stalling Fuel Pump Connector

My 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid is having a weird issue. 148,928 km on it. Sometimes it won't start, or it stalls when I'm idling. The check engine light is on, and the engine seems to be running rough. I'm burning through gas faster than usual. Error codes seem fuel pump related. I've checked fuses, but has anyone experienced something similar?

I had a similar problem with my Fusion. Mine is not a hybrid, but I had very similar symptoms - rough running, stalling, and the check engine light. Turned out to be a faulty connection at the fuel pump. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the pump itself?

Thanks for the quick reply! By faulty connection, do you mean a loose wire or corrosion, or something else? Was it difficult to access and check?

In my case, it was corrosion on the connector pins causing intermittent contact. Accessing it wasn't too bad, but you'll need to get under the car. If you're not comfortable working around the fuel system, it might be best to get it checked out by a workshop. It could save you a lot of hassle and potential problems.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to my local mechanic, and you were spot on. They found a corroded connector at the fuel pump, just like you said. New connector and labor came to 95€. Runs like a champ now!
