Fusion tire pressure sensor fault

I've got a 2020 Ford Fusion with a gasoline engine, and I'm running into a tire pressure sensor fault. The system is showing a 'Tire pressure too low' warning, and an error message pops up in the speedometer. Hooked it up to a reader, and it confirms an error stored in the memory. The tires are properly inflated, so that's not it. With 52541 km on the clock, could it really be a faulty sensor already?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, though yours is much newer. Kept getting low tire warnings even though the tires were fine. Did some digging, and the shop told me the sensor battery was likely the culprit. Was that the first thing you checked?

Interesting. I hadn't considered the sensor battery itself. I assumed they were designed to last much longer than that. How old was your Astra when you had the problem? And was it all the sensors or just one?

My Astra was about six years old when it happened, so a bit older than your Fusion. It was just one sensor acting up at first, then another a few months later. Given your car's age and the mileage, it's probably worth having a shop take a look. Maybe they can test the sensor before you replace it. It's a bit like fruit, sometimes it goes bad even if it looks fresh!

Thanks for the insight. I appreciate the help. Ended up taking it to the workshop, and you were spot on, it was indeed the sensor battery. Cost me 280€ to get it sorted. Hopefully this fixes it for good.
