Fusion Windshield Wipers Not Working

Hey, I'm having an odd issue with my 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The windshield wipers have suddenly stopped working altogether. No response at any speed setting. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. Also, there is an error stored in the error memory. Could this be related to the steering column or turn signal switch assembly? I'm thinking it might be a defective cable or plug connection.

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my Fusion, though I have the regular gas engine. No wipers at all, huh? Does your cruise control still work? If it does, it might not be the entire stalk assembly, but a specific connection for the wipers. Have you tried wiggling the wiper switch to see if they flicker at all?

Good question about the cruise control! Yes, the cruise control is working perfectly fine. And no, wiggling the switch doesn't do anything at all. Still completely dead. So you think it's likely just the connection for the wipers themselves, and not a bigger issue with the whole steering column?

That's what it sounds like to me. Given the cruise control works, the main stalk is probably okay. Could still be internal to the switch, of course. Honestly, with it throwing an error code, and you've checked the fuses, it's probably best to just take it to a workshop. I bet they can diagnose it quickly. I ended up doing that myself.

Thanks for the insight! I appreciate you sharing your experience. I think you're right, I'll take it to the shop. They quoted me around 95€ for the repair, which seems reasonable. Hopefully, it's just a bad connection as we suspect!
