G Klasse electrical issue overvoltage errors

I'm writing to ask about an electrical issue with my 2021 Mercedes G Klasse with a gasoline engine. At 40626 kilometers, it's showing fault memory entries for overvoltage, causing system failures, a weak battery start, and electrical malfunctions. I suspect a discharged or defective battery. Has anyone seen this, and could it be a faulty voltage regulator or a power surge affecting the car ECU?

I had a similar issue with my G Klasse. Overvoltage errors can be tricky. Check the battery connections for corrosion. A failing voltage regulator can cause these symptoms. Did you notice any other unusual behavior before the overvoltage errors?

Thank you. I didn't observe any other unusual behaviours prior to the overvoltage issue; it arose abruptly. I'll inspect the battery connections. When you had a similar problem, was the car ECU affected? Did replacing the voltage regulator resolve the electrical issue?

Yes, my car ECU also showed some related errors due to the power surge. Replacing the voltage regulator and the battery fixed the problem. I suggest having a workshop check it; it is difficult to diagnose remotely.

I appreciate your insight and confirmation. I'll have the vehicle inspected at a workshop. It appears the voltage regulator is the likely issue. The repair cost was 290€. Thanks again for your assistance.
