The DTC was B1012 - 'Fault in circuit of component R12/15 (Driver airbag sensor)'. Resistance values I haven't checked yet. As for fuses, I visually inspected them, but I haven't tested them under load. Should I be looking for a specific resistance range on the airbag sensor circuit?

The DTC B1012 strongly suggests a fault within the driver's airbag sensor circuit. While visual inspection of fuses is prudent, it is advisable to verify their functionality under load. Consult the Mercedes-Benz technical service manual for your specific model and model year for the stipulated resistance range for the airbag sensor circuit. Given the nature of the fault and the potential hazards associated with the airbag system, I would recommend seeking a qualified automotive technician experienced in Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Thanks, appreciate the insights. It ended up being a loose connector on the crash sensor, just like I initially suspected. I cleaned the contacts and secured it properly. SRS light gone. Total cost: 95€ for the cleaner and some zip ties. Knowing I was on the right track saved me a lot of time.

I understand your concern regarding the SRS light. I own a similar G Klasse. Have you checked the specific diagnostic trouble code (DTC)? Have you inspected the resistance values of the airbag sensor circuits? Have you checked the condition of the relevant fuses responsible for powering the airbag control unit?
