G37 Top Stuck + Warning Lights: Rollover Sensor Issue?

Hey everyone, got a weird issue with my 2010 Infiniti G. The convertible top is completely stuck (won't open or close), and both the speedometer and airbag warning lights are lit up on the dash. I suspect it might be related to the rollover sensor, but I'm not 100% sure. Has anyone dealt with something similar? I'd really appreciate hearing about your repair experiences and what the fix was, especially if you got it handled at a shop. Thanks in advance!

Summary of the thread

The 2010 Infiniti G convertible top was stuck, and the speedometer and airbag warning lights were on. The issue was suspected to be related to the rollover sensor. However, it was suggested to check the fuses, as similar problems were resolved by replacing a blown fuse. Upon inspection, a blown fuse was found and replaced, resolving the issue with the convertible top and warning lights.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey there! Had a similar issue with my 2013 Infiniti Q60 last summer, and it drove me nuts! The warning lights and electrical gremlins turned out to be just a blown fuse in the main electrical system. My local workshop found it pretty quickly took them about 30 minutes to diagnose and fix. Cost me around 52€ for the fuse replacement and labor. Before jumping to bigger conclusions, I'd definitely get the fuse box checked. These Infinitis can act up when there's an electrical issue, and sometimes it's just something simple like this. Quick question though have you noticed any other electrical issues before this happened? Also, is your battery relatively new? Would help to know these details to better pinpoint the problem. Let me know these details, and I might be able to share more specific advice from my experience!

Thanks for sharing your experience! My car's at 220024 KM and just had service last month. I haven't noticed any other electrical problems before this, and my battery is actually pretty new replaced it about 6 months ago. Good suggestion about the fuse though definitely worth checking that first before I start freaking out about bigger issues. Would you happen to know which fuse I should be looking at specifically? I've got my manual but it's not super clear about the convertible top system.

Hey again! Thanks for those details that's really helpful. Just to add to my previous experience with my Q60, I actually had to deal with something similar even after changing the fuse. In my case, it turned out that there was a specific fuse (number 15 in the main fuse box) that controls several electrical components including the convertible system. Since your battery is relatively new (like mine was), and you've had recent service, I'm even more convinced it's likely a fuse issue. When it happened to my car, I first checked the 15A fuse that's specifically labeled for the convertible top system it's usually in the main fuse box under the hood. You'll find it in the diagram on the fuse box cover, though I know these Infiniti manuals can be a bit confusing! Just a heads up from my experience even if the fuse looks okay visually, it might still be faulty. When I was troubleshooting mine, I actually had to test the fuse with a multimeter to be sure. If you're not comfortable doing that, most auto parts stores will check it for free. Would you mind checking if that specific fuse looks okay? Also, while you're at it, might be worth checking fuse number 23 too that one's related to the airbag system in these models. Let me know what you find!

Thanks so much for all the detailed help! Just checked both fuses you mentioned you're not gonna believe this, but fuse 15 was definitely blown! Grabbed a replacement for like 5€, popped it in, and everything's working perfectly now top moves smoothly, and all the warning lights are off. Can't believe I was stressing about potentially needing major repairs! Really appreciate you sharing your experience and walking me through this. Saved me a ton of money and headache. Definitely keeping this info handy in case it happens again. Thanks again for being so helpful!
