G6 automatic temperature control issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Ford G6 is experiencing issues with its automatic temperature control, where the air conditioning won't activate, and an error is stored. The suspected cause is a faulty interior temperature sensor, as indicated by an incorrect temperature reading on the dashboard. It is suggested to check the cable and plug connections of the sensor, but ultimately, a professional diagnosis at a workshop is recommended to confirm the issue and proceed with the repair.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is that cable/plug located? And yes, you're right, the temperature reading on the dashboard is totally off, which is another reason I suspect the sensor. Any more details would be a huge help!

Given the inaccurate temperature reading and the non-functional climate control, and the fact that I had similar symptoms, I'd advise taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis. It sounds like the sensor issue is very likely, and they'll be able to pinpoint the exact problem and confirm whether the cable or plug is indeed defective.

Okay, thanks a bunch for confirming my suspicions and for the advice! I'll book it in with a workshop to get it sorted. They've quoted me around 95€ for the repair, which doesn't sound too bad all things considered. Hopefully, that'll fix it!

I had a similar problem with my G6. Check the cable and plug connection of the component. Is the temperature reading displayed on the dashboard also incorrect?
