G6 low tire pressure ABS and steering issues

My 2008 Ford G6, gasoline engine, 241k km, is throwing a low tire pressure warning. Simultaneously, the ABS light illuminates, steering wheel vibrates noticeably, and the steering requires increased effort, almost like power steering failure. I've visually inspected the tires, inflated them to the correct pressure, but the issue persists. Suspect a faulty tire sensor, but the other symptoms are concerning. Anyone experienced something similar?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same thing happen on my G6 a while back. Low tire pressure light, ABS coming on, and the steering getting really heavy. Scared the heck out of me! Did you check all your tires for punctures or anything?

Yeah, checked all tires thoroughly. No visible punctures, nails, or anything obvious. Pressure is holding steady after inflation. The sudden onset of all these symptoms together is what's throwing me off. Was your issue definitely related to a tire sensor, or something else?

For sure! It ended up being a defective valve in one of the tires, causing a very slow leak that the tire pressure sensor picked up on. The weird thing was, it was so slow I couldn't hear or feel it, and that's why the tires looked inflated ok. And yeah, the ABS and steering issues were definitely related to the tire pressure thing on my car! I would get yours checked out at a workshop. I wouldn't mess around with the ABS and steering!

Appreciate the insight. Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – defective valve in the tire. New valve, sensor recalibrated, and everything's back to normal. Cost me 280€, but worth it for peace of mind. Thanks again!
