G6 oxygen sensor issue

Hey, I have a 2008 Ford G6 with a gasoline engine. Recently, the check engine light came on. The error memory says there's an issue with the oxygen sensor and I've noticed higher fuel consumption. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the cause?

Sounds familiar. I've got a G6 too. Is the error consistently showing up? Maybe it's just a faulty reading. Have you checked the sensor's connections?

Yeah, the error reappears after clearing it. I visually inspected the connections, but didn't do any electrical testing. You think it's the sensor itself then?

Could be the sensor, could be something else messing with the air-fuel ratio. Given the error and fuel consumption, and that you've checked the connections, probably best to get it properly diagnosed. It ended up costing me 95€ at the workshop.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I'll take it to the workshop and have them check the oxygen sensor and connections. Hopefully, it's a simple fix.
