G6 Radar Sensor Error

Hey, I've got a 2010 Ford G6 with a gasoline engine. It's showing a 'Radar Sensor Malfunction' error on the speedometer with only 34481 km on the clock. There's an error code too, causing other system failures and a warning light. Can a dirty sensor really mess things up this much?

I had something similar with my 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The adaptive cruise control really depends on that radar sensor, and even a small problem can cause a fault. The speedometer error and stored error code sound familiar. Did it disable any driving assistance systems?

Yeah, the adaptive cruise control is totally dead, and other driver-assistance features are down too. It's weird that a small sensor issue seems to have such a big effect. What fixed it for you, and was it similar?

My symptoms were almost the same: cruise failure, error messages, the works. I tried cleaning it myself, but no luck. A technician found a faulty radar sensor connection which made the car think the sensor was dirty. These systems are super sensitive, so I'd get it checked by a professional.
