Galaxy Active hood fault and airbag light
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Ford Galaxy is experiencing an "Active hood fault" and an airbag warning light, with the on-board computer indicating random triggering of spring actuators. This issue may be related to the pedestrian safety system. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by replacing the acceleration sensor, which was causing the actuators to fire. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle checked by a professional, as it involves the crash detection system, and replacing the faulty sensor resolved the issue.

Interesting! Where is that acceleration sensor located, and is it difficult to replace? Also, were your hood actuators firing too? I'm trying to figure out if it's a sensor or a hood latch problem.

Yeah, the actuators were firing on mine as well. I wouldn't mess with it too much yourself. It's all tied into the crash detection system. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop and getting it checked out properly. Much safer that way.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – it was the acceleration sensor. They replaced it, and the error is gone, and the airbag light is off. Cost me 315€, but at least it's fixed. Really appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series. Same error message, airbag light, the whole shebang. In my case, it was the acceleration sensor that was causing the problem.
