Galaxy Audio System Failure

I'm experiencing an odd issue with the audio system in my 2003 Ford Galaxy diesel. The entire system is dead – no sound, no display, nothing. Diagnostics show an error stored in the memory, pointing towards a defective display. Has anyone else encountered this? Any thoughts before I start tearing apart the dashboard?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I have a Galaxy too, and I had a similar thing happen a while back. Radio suddenly went silent. I checked the fuses, but they were all good. Was there any static or weird noises beforehand?

No static or unusual sounds beforehand, it just cut out completely. All dashboard controls related to the audio system are unresponsive. Did yours behave the same way? What was the ultimate cause in your case?

Yep, that's exactly what happened to mine. No warning, just silence. I tried messing with the wiring, but honestly, I wasn't confident enough to dig too deep. Ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the display unit. New one sorted it right out.

Thanks for confirming. It sounds like I'm heading down the same path. I've been quoted 725€ for a new display, including installation. Looks like that's the fix. Appreciate the insight!
