Galaxy central locking failure

I'm having trouble with the central locking system on my 2012 Ford Galaxy with a gasoline engine. It's completely dead – neither the key fob nor the interior switch works. Doors won't lock or unlock. A diagnostic scan shows an error. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hey! I had a similar problem with my Galaxy not too long ago. Central locking went totally bonkers. Have you checked the wiring loom where it passes from the body into the door? That's where my trouble was; the constant flexing had broken a wire. Seemed to affect the whole central locking system.

Could you elaborate on the specific location of this wiring loom? Was it within the driver's side door, or perhaps one of the other doors? And did the diagnostic error codes you encountered mirror my own? Any additional insight would be greatly appreciated.

It was the driver's door on mine. The loom is tucked in the rubber boot between the door and the frame. I can't recall the exact error code, but it definitely pointed towards a fault in the central locking. I'd say it's worth a look before you start tearing everything apart. If you're not comfortable tinkering, a workshop could pinpoint it pretty quick. Saved me a fortune!

Thanks for the guidance! Following your recommendation, I inspected the wiring loom within the driver's side door, and I found a fractured wire. The repair cost 95€ at a workshop and has restored the central locking system.
