Galaxy cruise control failure
Summary of the thread
The 2004 Ford Galaxy's cruise control stopped working, displaying an error message on the speedometer. Diagnostics revealed an error in the memory, but the fuse box appeared fine. A suggestion was made to check the cable and plug connections of the cruise control component, as defective connections are a common cause. Ultimately, the issue was resolved at a workshop, confirming it was indeed a defective connection.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is that component located? I'm not exactly a mechanic, so a detailed explanation would be great. I'm picturing this component like the car's brain, but I have no idea where the brain is located!

It's difficult to explain. Honestly, with those symptoms and if it's truly the cable/plug connection, it's best to take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly. It's like trying to fix a broken clock with a hammer – you might just make it worse.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. Apparently, it was a defective connection. The repair cost me 95€.

I had a similar issue with my Galaxy. First, did you check the cable and plug connections of the cruise control component itself? A defective connection is a common cause.
